ROUND PIXEL DOO is a limited liability company registered in Podgorica, Montenegro. It exists to design and publish software — creative apps for consumers and productivity apps for people working alone or in small teams. It is not an agency and does not resell anyone else's software; what we put our name on, we built.

Being independent means there is no roadmap dictated from outside and nobody to satisfy but the people using what we make. It also means we are accountable for the result, which is the part that keeps the work honest.

A pixel is a square. It is the smallest unit a screen can show and the least forgiving shape there is — hard edges, no give.

Rounding it is a small change that costs almost nothing and makes everything feel different. That is roughly the whole idea: the distance between software that works and software that people actually enjoy using is usually made up of a lot of very small decisions that nobody is required to make.

Directly. If you write to the company, the person who replies is the person doing the work — there is no support tier to escalate through and no account manager in the middle.

We take releases seriously. An app that ships broken costs more trust than the feature was worth, so we would rather hold something back than put it in front of people before it is ready. We keep the scope of each product narrow for the same reason: it is the only way a small company finishes anything properly.

We also don't build products that depend on surveillance. That rules out some business models, and we're comfortable with the trade — it is easier to design something good when you are not also designing a way to extract data from it. The same principle applies to this website, which sets no cookies and runs no analytics; the privacy policy explains exactly what that means.

Podgorica, Montenegro. It is a small market, which settles a question most companies have to argue about: anything we build has to work for people anywhere, because there is no home audience large enough to build a business on alone.
